Fire Damper (MFD/EFD)

The RICKARD FIRE DAMPER is used as an automatic shut-off device to prevent fire and smoke from spreading through ducting passing through walls and floors. The fire damper is suitable for supply air and extract air systems. During normal operation the damper blade is open to enable air passage through the ventilation system. In case of a fire a mechanical fusible link triggers a coil spring to close the damper blade at 72°C and prevents it from opening again.

PRODUCT DETAILS
Blades: 2mm Mill Galvanised mild steel.
Casing: 1.2mm Mill Galvanised mild steel.
Corners: braced and welded.
Linkage: Internal linkage, enclosure within frame, in airstream, galvanised steel.
Bearings: Oil impregnated sintered bronze up to 200°C.
Axles: 15mm hexagonal rod bolted directly through the blade.
Top & Bottom Jambs: Galvanised mild steel
Minimum Duct Size - Rectangular: 150x150mm
Maximum Duct Size (WxH):

   > 1200 x 1200mm (Multiple Dampers joined together)

vii.            Air Leakage: complies to minimum leakage requirements.
viii.           Fire resistance test: Closes after 60 seconds and remains closed thereafter.
ix.             Fire resistance test: Existing openings do not enlarge.
x.              Fire resistance test: Damper structures remained intact and prevented flaming.
xi.             Marking and installation: Complied
